The man was nasty in an email to me, which was in response to one I had sent him in frustration because of the lack of communication regarding the shipping of my items. All I wanted was a tracking number. He used a vulgarity in the email to me which I certainly did not appreciate. Also, some problems with one of the dresses were not listed in the description.

I received a nasty email from the auction house when I expressed frustration at the lack of communication regarding the delivery of my shipment. Vulgar and nasty remark in the email.

Some of the items were pulled by live auctions for containing ivory when in fact they didn't contain ivory at all. They sold cheaply to the floor bidders because they were not added back to the auction in time.

Item blocked in French Customs, because the auction house has not given the invoice and all others necessary papers. They ask me more than 100 us $for an international prioity shipping and they are not able to do the job correctly!! A real shame!!!

This was a fabulous auction and my first experience of bidding in the USA, Since the auction I was not given help with how to pay. Once paid, I have not heard from the auction house at all. My Lot won has not arrived. Zero communication from the auction house.

One of the best auction houses. They ship smaller items themselves, make the payment process easy, are good at replying to questions (some auction houses NEVER reply!).

Surprised to find the owner answering my phone inquiry and payment. It was such a delight to talk and interact with him. Also, the shipping costs were very reasonable. The item came two days later from the east coast to the west coast. I wish all of my transactions through LiveAuctioneers were like this one.

I have shopped with a handful of auction houses and I have to say, my transactions with Charles Whitaker are the smoothest of the lot! Very pleasant on the phone, even the little things like mentioning that I had shopped w/them previously. Love them!!!

Excellent customer service: I left a message they called me back right away. Very fast shipping of my item. I'm very pleased with this auction house and would not hesitate to take part in another of their auctions.

I am currently in the process of pursuing a refund for the sole lot I bought from this auction house. I was only interested in 5 lots out of 499. When the first lot I was interested in brought $75 more than the top estimate (plus a 23 % buyer's premium) I quickly realized I was not going to get any bargains (I know this is not the auction house's fault-only the result of other buyers having money to burn). When I returned to the auction hours later purely out of curiosity, I was able to purchase one lot but when the items arrived in the mail, the only one I wanted in the lot was damaged. It is the kind of damage not clearly evident in the pictures and I wish they had pointed it out prior to purchase.

After we had paid for shipping-the package just arrived at our US address without warning. It would have been helpful to be informed that the package was in transit and a tracking number so we could watch for it.
