Miscommunications and poor packaging

The auction house made several mistakes throughout the payment and the in-house shipping process. Lots of miscommunications between the auction house staff lead to charging our credit card for excessive and unnecessary shipping cost prior our approval (even though we asked for shipping quotes prior). Also bad in-house packaging lead to items being damaged upon delivery. The auction house should definitely not provide in-house shipment if their staffs have no knowledge on how to securely pack antique items. After all these issues, we finally arrived at an agreement to return the items to the auctioneer for a full refund. Unfortunately this experience was very unpleasant and we will not buy from them anymore.

For bidders online the condition of the item is most important because they cannot examine the item.

I must say that the care taken to pack my purchases and the prompt mailing were excellent. Thank you Storia, I will hopefully be able to find something I like to bid on again. Cheers, Ron
