Description
The lot features an Indian tanned thick hide bowcase and arrow quiver with pony beadwork and painted hide attributed to the Crow of the Northern Plains. The piece shows a bowcase or bow case with fringed ends on a thick scalloped edge shoulder strap having a dark brown red dye with an arrow quiver on the front. The bowcase and quiver are sewn with hide lacing. The quiver shows two bands on the front and rear wrapping around both sides using scarce pony glass trade beads in chalk whtie and padre light blue. The quiver shows a painted banded stripped design in brown and a red ocher / ochre rubbing. The piece has thick Indian tanned hide with thick overall hide being well kept. This has a collection tag marked, "Quiver Crow $3,450 / 08A24". Exact age unknown. Measures overall 45"L without fringes by 35"H with fringes.
