A FINE AND RARE PAIR OF LARGE 18TH CENTURY GEORGE III SILVER GILT REPOUSSE DISHES by Daniel Smith & Robert Sharp, the smaller dish decorated in relief with a female being pulled by two lions and marching fawn, the banding depicting wild boar heads and grotesque beasts, the larger depicting Diana standing beside another female within a landscape, being watched by a grotesque beast in the forest. London 1782. 4020 grams. Largest 58 cm x 44 cm. (2) Note: Daniel Smith and Robert Sharp, a London silversmith partnership 1763 - 1788. Working at 14, Westmoreland Buildings, Aldersgate. Very important makers whose work is always of outstanding quality. They supplied silver to the Royal Family and the upper echelons of British society.
