This lot was with the Britton Family military items. Charles Ray Britton was a Marine Corps Lt. when he was sent to Vietnam in 1966-7. Discharged at the rank of Captain. After a tough childhood and being adopted while growing up in Bryan Texas he became a boy scout attending Austin High ROTC and then Texas A&M university. He was commissioned in the USMC and served as a navigator flying in F-4 Phantoms IIs with the VMCJ-2 Playboy unit. Flying many missions he would also conduct surveillance missions during the war. This lot consists of his Boy scout, R.O.T.C., A+M, and USMC equipment. His I'D Corps dress sword with bag, leather flight jacket with the patches present but removed. Brittons APH 6B camo Flight helmet, A roll of developed aerial surveillance film over 10' long, an MC-1 knife with parachute cord, box of Kodak slides of friends in Nam, his Co-Pilots hat, a photograph of Ray in uniform, his tins and dogtags (Also his step brothers tags who was believed to have been killed in the war) and his service medals. And an autographed photo to Ray from John Wayne dated 1969. Dirt and grime on items from storage.
