Description
An assorted lot, comprising: a 5 1/2” spoon marked “WH”, a 9” fiddle back serving spoon by “H B Prescott, a c.1750 8 1/2” spoon marked “R * M” with feathered edge handle, a 4 1/2” fiddle salt with shell bowl by R & A Campbell of Baltimore MD c.1840, three matching 5 3/4” fiddle back teaspoons by James Munroe of Barnstable MA c. 1830, two 6” spoons by an unknown “N.Arnzen”, a 4” salt simply marked “V&S” “R TARNAY”,and a 5 1/2” bird back spoon by John David “ID” mark.
Dimensions: The total approximate weight is 6.38 troy ounces.
Provenance: Property from the Collection of C. Thomas Attix Jr., East Windsor, New Jersey.
Condition
Two spoons are in poor condition with various bends, dents, and wear. The rest are in overall good condition with expected wear, the bird back by John David has heavy wear to the bird decoration, the spoon marked R * M has a repaired handle some bends to the bowls.
