Description
Two original hand-painted animation cels showing Tetsuo Shima from Katsuhiro Otomo's Akira (1988). These cels were initially obtained from a VHS video store in the early 1990s, where they helped promote the Manga film genre, which was new to the UK at the time. The artwork appears to show Shima after the Clowns ambushed him and his girlfriend Kaori, and he experiences intense headaches and hallucinations. The two cels are painted in gouache on acetate sheets and are labelled "B-28" and "B-36". Each cel also comes with its original corresponding pencil production drawing.
