An original "Go Ape!" US One-Sheet promoting the sci-fi television series Planet of the Apes. In 1974, fans of the Planet of the Apes films were treated to a new TV series broadcast weekly on CBS. This poster displays the bold "Go Ape!" tagline with a gorilla soldier parody of the Uncle Sam recruitment poster image. The same imagery was used on the more common compilation One-Sheet, which advertised all five Planet of the Apes movies re-released in the summer of 1974 before the series came out. The TV series style poster offered here is scarcer than the movie version.
