19TH-CENTURY BLACK FOREST CARVED EAGLE CLOCK: Nicely carved Black Forest Mantel clock, having an Eagle perched upon a Boulder & Branch formation. Enameled Roman numeral medallions applied to the face. Clock works marked "Leuenberger Interlaken, 1872. Approx. 23.5" h x 20" w x 8" d. Provenance: Consigned by direct descendants of world traveler and 1928 400-meter Olympian, Herman Phillips. The Olympics were held in Amsterdam in 1928.
Condition
Several age cracks, loss at corner of base, part that holds pendulum need replacing. A few wood borders at Roman numerals missing.
