Item Details
Description
Overall length 15 5/8”. Plain blade marked on the reverse near the hilt “(logo) ROBT KLAAS SOLINGEN”. Silvered eagle cross guard with oak leaf embellished pommel & ferrule. Plated scabbard. It is questionable whether this cross guard is original to this dagger making us wonder about the originality of the piece. It also seems a bit heavy as compared to other 1st model Railway daggers. This dagger may be of post-WWII assemblage or production. CONDITION: blade shows minor scabbard wear. Hilt shows light overall wear, as does the scabbard. PROVENANCE: from the Lifelong Collection of Glen E. Mattox. (02-18194/BF). $500-800.
