An important and rare "Directors Desk", designed by the artist Igl (Ernest Hofmann) for Wilhelm Werndl. The body of the desk is made of lacquered and molded fiberglass, the drawer fronts and writing surface are lacquered wood and the bottom of the desk is a carpeted foot pad. Werndl label in storage compartment under push-up writing surface. Germany, circa 1970s. Dimensions: H 30.5" x W 70" x D 32". Condition: Surface wear, scuffs on edges, some signs of discoloration and surface soiling consistent with age and use. The top panel has been replaced and missing the clock and other original inset parts; ceramic tray, dishes & pen holder. The push-up desk top missing key.
