A tie-dye cape, created and dyed by Ann Thomas a.k.a "Tie-Dye Annie," for The Lovin' Spoonful founder, John Sebastian.

The velour cape features an intricate blue, purple, green, yellow, pink, and orange tie-dyed pattern with a satin lining, a green rope cord detail, hook and eye closure, and hood featuring an embroidered fish in the lining. No size or label present.

Sebastian met Annie when he moved into a tent on the 46-acre artistic community near Studio City called "The Farm," where she shared her knowledge and love of tie-dyeing with him. In a past interview, Sebastian shared about Annie, “One of the many residents (of The Farm) was a woman named Ann Thomas, a great gal from Brooklyn who had a hundred talents, tremendously artistic. At that time she was primarily doing batiking and Indian nail dyeing. Out of that, I don’t know if she saw tie-dyeing in some historical context or some friend of hers showed her the technique, but she immediately became interested."

According to Sebastian, he regularly wore the cape on stage. He was photographed holding the cape at a party thrown by The Who, c. 1975, alongside Harry Nilsson, Pamela Des Barres, and Keith Moon.
