An Impressively Large Japanese Imari Charger
late Edo or early Meiji period, 19th century, extremely large charger beautifully hand painted with lush trees in garden settings full of auspicious motifs such as: plum, bamboo, chrysanthemums, pine, pairs of birds, and a long tailed , against a ground of textile patterns, the exterior hand painted in blue with birds and flowers above a swirl border around the foot rim, kiln spur marks to underside, comes together with carved wooden display stand.

Overall very good estate condition; some light wear and loss to gilt on rim; hairline crack to rim; metal band hanger still attached.
