A stylish Danish porcelain Mother & Child sculptural figure designed by Kai Nielsen (1882-1924) for Bing & Grondhal and dating from the early 20th century. The figure portraying a naked girl stands on a rounded pedestal base with a young baby sitting on the palm of her right hand and supported by her left arm and the baby held out in front of her at eye level. The figure is well sculpted and decorated in a white blanc de chine glaze with underglaze blue makers marks with green printed marks to the base. Very good antique condition; no chips, cracks, or repairs. Measures approx. 15" high x 3 1/4" in diameter (base).
