Description
Philippines Archipelagos, Batangas population, Tabak peoples. Vintage bolo sword with bright steel quillion which is carved and inset with red stone. Carved carabao horn handle in form of a horse head with the handle inset with stones and carved panels. Ears of the horse head hollow carved for inset of feathers or decorative tassel. Horse eyes a black inset stone. Engraved to the blade " PHILIPPINES ". For a very Similar example see (A Warrior's Armaments and Ornament, The Edwin Bautista Collection of Philippine Bladed Weapons), page 37. Size 24 3/4" L, blade 17 3/4" L

oxidization throughout the blade left in untouched condition
