No reserve. Meiji Period for soup or rice. C.1870-10. 4 1/2" diameter. Bowl and lid both of rounded angular form with flared foot and grip. Brown lacquered inside and out. The top with a crane, among the most cherished of Japanese images, The crane was said to live 1000 years and represented good fortune. All gold decoration is true gold in a lacquer matrix. Produced by the true lacquer (not paint) process which takes weeks of layering and drying. Additional details to the purchaser. Minor age and wear blemishes as typical.
