Iron point of standard pattern with triangular tip and conical socket. Arsenal mark and racking number. 80” in total length. Green painted cane shaft indicating mounting and use by a native regiment serving a regional ruler. This pattern was adopted just nine years after the Sepoy Rebellion. This example would have been issued to a native lancer serving under the identical conditions as the Sepoys who mutinied in 1857-9.
