Hilt with brass two piece riveted "bell" knuckle guard and pommel, guard stamped 23M and 937. Black leather over wood grip. 26" blade with unstopped fuller, marked at ricasso three line AMES MFG CO. CHICOPEE MASS, verso USN DR 1862. Riveted leather scabbard with brass mounts. Overall 33" long. Older collector tags attached at hilt. Condition: Dings to guard, cleaning scratches to blade. Missing wire and leather losses to grip. Leather scabbard with losses, nearly complete break that may completely break at any time.
