This is a rare, original shop built switch lantern from the Boston and Maine Railroad. Built in their shops, most of these lanterns were later changed, stripped of their snow hoods, and then lenses were replaced with plastic versions. This lantern is original and complete, with the correct fount, burner, glass lenses, and snow hoods. Door opens easily and removes easily. Two green and two amber lenses. Has original inner glass chimney as well. Rare, hard-to-find lantern!
