Item Details
Description
5 ½” length with slightly concave faceted spout. The body transitions to an oval at the base. Wood base secured with iron pins and nicely carved with the owner’s initials. Beautiful mottled age patina throughout. Priming horns held powder of finer grain size to charge the pans of flintlock rifles and pistols. The finer and more uniform size assured instantaneous ignition and rapid combustion for a fast and uniform firing. These flasks were carried in pocket or bag and had no provision for suspension.
